Devlog 6: Start of production sprint 2
Intro
This has been a sad week for 'Hodur You!' as we had to say goodbye to one of our teammates Steven. We are unsure what the future holds after losing a vital force but are still dedicated to making this the best viking-slayer power fantasy it can be. Have a look at what we finished this week:
Art
The face of your immortal enemy has now been completed. Hodurs model is finished and got an awesome texture to boot:
Hodur shot his own brother with a mistletoe arrow killing him by mistake. It is your duty to enact vengeance upon the guilt ridden god.
Enacting vengeance will be all the more fun with these new weapon models. The Norse bow and broken greatsword are almost complete leaving only the viking horn as the last weapon to be implemented 3D wise. Robbe is already working hard on coding in all of their mechanics.
Some environmental models have been finished and we are trying out our substance materials on them. We see that we still have some tweaking to do but it looks promising.
We are also working on fog particle effects and a new rocky material s already finished.
Next up is fitting everything together, we are currently making sure all of our materials fit in the color scheme and place they are supposed to be in. We are excited to see how it will all come together!
Programming
We have added the special attack of the great sword. The special attack can only be used once the sword is fully repaired if it isn't repaired the ability is disabled. The special ability will launch the player forward exploding his sword once he hits an enemy.
The Viking horn has also been added. The basic attack blows the enemy away and marking them. The marked enemies are going to spawn healing orbs when they are hit with the special.
The special of the horn has not fully been implemented yet. The special now only pulls the enemies to the player in 3 bursts and damages him. The healing orbs still have to be spawned.
