Devlog 7: Week 2 of second production sprint


Intro
It has been a while since the previous update, but we haven't been slacking off. Please take a look at the new developments we made for 'Hodur You!'.

Art

HUD/UI

We now got a main screen, weapon cycle screen, leaderboard screen, settings screen and some parts for the in game hud:

Characters

This week we started on the final steps to bring all of our characters and enemies alive: we've started rigging them, preparing them for animations so we can finally see all of them move! Expect the wolves to bite back soon! 

Not only can you expect them to bite, you can be bitten in full color! The wolf texture is finally finished.

Environment

We also started working on putting everything together in the environment. Things can look a bit rough but overall promising.


Programming

This week we mainly focused on changing the game loop. Because we have one programmer less, so we had to scale the project down a little bit. 

Game loop

The new game loop will go as followed. The boss has 4 stages, every stage there will be other environmental effects, enemies and maybe some boss abilities. The boss will spawn enemies after a certain amount of time, the type off enemies that the boss spawns depends on the stage. When the enemies are present the boss cannot be damaged. Once the boss reaches a certain amount off health the next stage will begin. This goes on until the boss dies which also results in the player winning the game.

Horn special attack

The horn special attack now fully works. When a enemy is marked by the basic attack, the special attack will leach the life out of the them, damaging them and healing the player.
